Todd and I bit the bullet tonight and rented the Best Picture Winner from our local redbox.
As usual, Todd fell asleep. His review: Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
I watched the whole movie, and I can understand why critics loved it, but I just wasn’t feeling it. I certainly wasn’t expecting the “feel good movie of the year”, but I was expecting some suspense and tension. Just like Anton, the movie lumbered from one scene to the next, in my opinion. My review: D.

With the start of Spring Break, I now have the time to start catching up on some novels that I have wanted to read for awhile. I’m in the middle of reading Life as We Knew It, and I can honestly say that this book is depressing the hell out of me! A story of a teen-age girl’s survival after an asteroid hits the moon, the book presents a look at a world falling apart, without heat, adequate supplies of food, etc. I’m only halfway through it, but it seems so depressing and sad I’m not in too much of a rush to finish it!
The other book, Touching Spirit Bear, is not so much depressing as it is gross! This is a story about a boy’s survival on a remote island. The descriptions of how he struggles to survive after a vicious bear attack are just plain disturbing. Yuck!!!
And Todd wonders why I buy the newest issue of UsWeekly every Friday . . .

Yes, it is Good Friday here in Chicago, but you wouldn’t think it if you were looking out the window. Weather forecasters are predicting anywhere from five to eight inches of snow for Friday and Saturday.
All the snow is going to make those Easter egg hunts a little more difficult now, don’t you think?

So, in the second installment of my popular series in which I review “Lost” episodes, I will give tonight’s episode a B-. Until about halfway through the show, I was confused: was I watching a Michael “flashback” or “flashforward”? The “whoosh” should have alerted me to the fact that it was a flashback, but it didn’t make sense; immediately after they left the island the first time, Michael and Walt make it to the mainland on the tiny piece of crap boat they left on?
Other questions: I understand why Michael wanted to kill himself, but why wouldn’t “the island let him”? Didn’t that fat guy that was talking to Michael get killed on the island? The island gets to pick and choose who lives and dies????
I don’t think Ben will be nominated for “Father of the Year” anytime soon. By now though, everyone should be pretty wary when Ben speaks. He’s told so many lies, I can’t keep them straight.
Previews for upcoming episodes look good!!! I can’t believe I have to wait until April 24th though!!!
I’m not too worried; “The Office” returns on NBC next week, so I’m all set.

I rate this week’s episode a solid B.
Did it really come as a surprise to anyone that Michael was Ben’s spy on the freighter? I’m trying really hard to like Juliet, but it’s pretty difficult. I dislike her even more now since she ratted out Sun to Jin. What a way to try to gain someone’s trust! I was kind of wondering when we would find out more about Sun and Jin.
Claire’s turn shoud be coming up soon. I don’t think I really need to know anything more about Kate though. Her backstories/flashforwards are so boring!!!!

Since I know you’ll be on this site all day long, and probably won’t leave the couch, please remember to put the sheets in the dryer.
